BBQS, SAUSAGES, STEWS AND SUCH

MEAT & BONES HAVE ADDED NEW FAVOURITES TO THE OLD

- STORY & PHOTOS ERIC E SURBANO

Meat & Bones has been around for four years and GURU was fortunate enough to be there when they first opened in Bangkok at theCommons.

Some things never get old and the same can be said about their eight-hour smoked BBQ beef ribs and six-hour smoked pork ribs. These classics remain tried, tested and true, but unlike before you can now get them as a set so you don’t have to make the difficult choice of either beef or pork. The Mix combo (B800++) comes with two sides, a pork sausage and three sauces that go great with the meat that falls off the bone. Seriously, there’s almost no need to use your fork and knife to get at the meat.

But aside from the classic smoked BBQ, they’ve also had a few new dishes. Seafood lovers should definitely go for the Smoked octopus (B450++), which is deceivingly satisfying and filling. They’ve also collaborated with deli-brand Rad Meat, whose addictive sausages are B140++ each with flavours like kimchi and salted egg. You can’t go wrong with any of them. Plus, Meat & Bones has their very own beef rib sausage. Yes, you read that right and it’s something you should not miss. The highlight of it all is their Beef ribs stew (B250++), which can be eaten with garlic bread or fries, but I decided to pair it with mashed potatoes to make a heavenly combo. After all, you can never go wrong with beef

and mashed potatoes. Oh, and don’t forget their corn bread (B80). Do not forget it!

BBQ beef and pork definitely remain the star players at Meat & Bones but that doesn’t mean what they offer is limited to just that. Get some sausages, fill up on the smoked octopus or have some of that glorious beef stew with mashed potatoes that will surely have you cleaning your plate. Wash it all down with a selection of craft sodas. You’re definitely in for a great time.

Meat & Bones is on the Market Floor at theCommons, Thong Lor 17. Visit MeatAndBonesBangkok.com or fb.com/MeatAndBonesBangkok.
