SOULFUL ENCOUNTER

- Story by VANNIYA SRIANGURA

Phuket is to welcome back rising American chef Noah Sandoval of Chicago’s two Michelin-starred restaurant Oriole, who will once again showcase his culinary flair at the tropical island’s ultra-luxurious Sri Panwa resort on Nov 15-16.

Following his star-studded success at Senza restaurant, of which he led the kitchen to prestigious fame in 20122014, Sandoval, together with his wife, decided to open Oriole on Chicago’s West Loop in 2016.

The 28-seat fine dining restaurant has from the very first year garnered various critical acclaims including four-star reviews from the Chicago Tribune; 5 Diamond-rated by AAA; and twostarred rating by the Michelin Guide.

Here for the second time at Sri Panwa Phuket, Sandoval promises to wow guests with his endless culinary creativity through meticulously-curated six-course dinners using pristine ingredients sourced from around the globe.

Promising to indulge your palate are flawlessly-executed creations such as golden Osetra caviar with cucumber and radish; Hudson Valley foie gras with Asian pear, black pepper gastrique and anise hyssop; matsutake mushroom with black truffle custard, tarragon and chicken jus; Hokkaido scallop with yeast and Burgundy truffle; A5 Miyazaki Wagyu with Cipollini onions, black garlic and Madeira; and Gianduja ganache with Tonka bean ice cream, lime and tamarind.

The dinner is held at the resort’s Baba Soul Food restaurant and priced at 5,900 baht per person for food only. Additional beverage pairing costs 2,888 baht and 3,888 baht per person. For more information and reservations, call Sri Panwa resort at 076-371-000 or visit sripanwa.com
