Apple, Lay’s top Twitter interaction

-

Apple, Lay’s and Samsung were Thais’ favourite brands to interact with on Twitter this quarter, according to Twitter’s research.

The social media site’s latest brand index for the third quarter of 2019 showed the top 10 brands in terms of engagement, a metric combining retweets, likes and clicks on brand accounts’ Twitter posts.

This quarter’s list included a diverse array of companies ranging from tech to health and beauty to automotive.

Apple topped the index for the first time, followed by Lay’s Thailand, Samsung Thailand, Eucerin Thailand, AIS, Mazda Thailand, Vaseline Thailand, Maybelline Thailand, Spotify Thailand and KBank.

“Brands featured in our third-quarter Thailand index understand the importance of Twitter and have made it an essential part of their marketing plan,” said Arvinder Gujra, managing director for Southeast Asia at Twitter.

“Brands are reaching out to Twitter’s influential audience, using it as their preferred platform to launch new products and services.”

Brands were successful on Twitter through promotional campaigns, giveaways and video content, said the platform.

Tweets using video have a higher recall than those without and also generate higher engagement.

Brands are also announcing new product launches on Twitter.

“Marketers in any business should understand that people use Twitter to discover what’s new,” Mr Gujra said.

“They need to connect with what’s happening and have Twitter at the heart of every campaign and product launch.”
