The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined hands with Thai Airways to boost tourism to Thailand on their coming 60th anniversary in 2020.

According to TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT and THAI share similar goals in attracting international travellers to Thailand and promoting domestic tourism to stimulate the local economy.

Under the 60th-anniversary collaboration, TAT will share with THAI marketing insights of its annual events, including the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok, World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, the Great Mekong Bike Ride, and international events including the Honda LPGA Thailand and PTT Thailand Grand Prix (MotoGP).

TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn, second left, and THAI President Sumeth Damrongchaitham, have launched joint-marketing campaigns.

THAI can launch travel packages on these events and offer added value by combining with TAT’s promotions such as the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale and THAI Pass Plus, allowing THAI or THAI Smile passengers to use their boarding pass to get discounts or souvenirs at participating stores.

Both parties will support campaigns and activities to reduce trash and single-use plastic while travelling in Thailand.

TAT expects that the tourism revenue next year will reach 3.71 trillion baht, up 10%. It will consist of 2.431 trillion baht from international tourists and 1.287 trillion baht from Thai tourists.
