Winner of ‘Airport City’ bid due in March
The result of the auction for the 290-billion-baht Airport City project is expected to be announced in March after the bidding committee yesterday opened the bid envelope of the CP-led consortium.
Navy chief Adm Luechai Ruddit, who chairs the committee, said the panel will examine the financial proposals submitted by the three bidders and the winner will likely be announced in March.
He said representatives from the BBS Consortium and the Grand Consortium also took part in the opening of the bid envelope which contained financial proposals for the Airport City project to ensure transparency.
The bid envelope was opened after a ruling by the Supreme Administrative Court which ordered the bidding committee to accept the CP-led consortium’s technical and financial proposals.
The event was also observed by representatives from the Eastern Economic Corridor Office and the Anti-Corruption Organisation of Thailand.
Rear Adm Kercchai Vajanaporn, deputy chief of the Office of the Comptroller of the Royal Thai Navy, said the financial proposals of the three bidders will not be announced, only the bid winner.
The CP-led consortium comprises Thana Holding under CP, Italian-Thai Development Plc, Ch Karnchang Plc, B Grimm Joint Ventures Holding Co and Orient Success International Co. The other bidder — the Grand Consortium — consists of Grande Asset Hotel and Property, Asia Aviation (jointly owned by Thai AirAsia) and Christiani & Nielsen (Thai) Plc.
