Setting the tone
Since the turn of the century, Laneige researchers have been onto an unlikely alchemy. The result of 19 years of research is bottled in Cream Skin Refiner, launched last year, with new products formulated with the novel Cream Blending Technology introduced this month.
Laneige is the moisture-focused K-beauty brand under cosmetic giant Amorepacific, which was on Forbes’ World’s Most Innovative Companies 2015.
The latest technology allows for the dissolving of a whole jar of highly-viscous cream into a watery toner that serves as a skin refiner.
The basic Laneige routine normally involves a cleanser, toner, emulsion, serum, cream and sleeping mask.
The toner’s freshness and high absorption, along with the cream’s moisturising power, are combined in Cream Skin Refiner, to be used instead of toner as the second step after cleansing.
One application is enough for oily skin, while two applications provide double hydration for dry skin.
The hybrid Cream Skin Refiner also features white tea leaf water obtained by a single-drop extraction method. Handpicked from the first leaves in spring, white tea has a higher amino acid content than green tea due to Amorepacific’s shadow-growing method, which controls photosynthesis.
The Cream Skin collection now includes a milk-oil cleanser, a refiner mist and a quick skin pack.
The two-minute quick fix is a Tencel sheet drenched with melted cream to provide a surge of moisturisation on dry areas such as the cheeks, chin and forehead.
