Port hope to stay perfect in Sukhothai

- TOR CHITTINAND

Port will try to continue their perfect start to the Thai League 1 season when they visit Sukhothai today.

Big-spending Port secured 4-1 wins over Nakhon Ratchasima and Samut Prakan City in their first two games of the 2020 campaign.

The Lions, under chairwoman Nualphan Lamsam, have brought in about 10 new players including Heberty Fernandes, Adisak Kraisorn and Charyl Chappuis.

However, they have to prove that they are equally good away from home as the wins were secured at their PAT Stadium.

On paper, Port should have few problems against Sukhothai, who are seen as relegation contenders.

Champions Chiang Rai United have got off to a slow start to the defence of their title with two draws.

The Beetles have a good chance to seal their first win of the season when they host bottom club Trat.

Struggling giants Muang Thong United are still seeking their first point this term.

The Kirins travel to Rayong, who have also suffered two defeats in as many matches.

Promoted clubs BG Pathum and Police Tero have defied all the odds with two wins.

BG Pathum, formerly Bangkok Glass, will host Police Tero, formerly BEC Tero, today.

“We are aiming for three points but we can’t underestimate them,” BG Pathum coach Dusit Chalermsaen said.
