Silpakorn Summer Music School (SSMS) is accepting applications for all string players (violin, viola, cello and double bass) to participate in a summer music camp scheduled for March 29 until April 5.

This is a musical life experience offering music lovers a chance to develop their skills and seriously practise in a fun atmosphere under the guidance of leading national and international faculty members, including Leo Phillips, Tasana Nagavajara, and Colin R Wrubleski, among others, under the direction of world-renowned Japanese conductor Hikotaro Yazaki. They will be performing a repertoire of famous pieces by four composers — Tchaikovsky’s Elegy for String Orchestra, Samuel Barber’s Adagio For Strings, Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Airs And Dances and Gustav Holst’s St Paul’s Suite.

The camp includes masterclasses for all instruments and workshops on interesting creative issues such as improvisation, music marketing and conducting.

The training location is the SCB Training Center, located at Sunset beach, Na Jomtien of Chon Buri.

The centre is fully equipped with en suite convenient bedrooms, classrooms, ensemble practice rooms and delicious meals in the atmosphere of the sunset by the sea each day.

The summer music-camp project will conclude with two concerts — at Tiffany Theatre Pattaya in Chon Buri on April 4 and at Mahisorn Hall, SCB Park Plaza in Bangkok on April 5.

It is open for admission to all, regardless of ages, and applicants should prepare the excerpts from qrgo.page.link/sQqoe for the audition.

Online applications can be made via forms.gle/eAHtvWAyz4smZRhN7 until Friday, and a VDO clip for online auditions should be sent to ssms.camp@gmail.com.
