The Voice Performance Department at College of Music, Mahidol University, presents Red Hot And Cole The Musical, based on a book of the same title by James Bianchi, Muriel McAuley and Randy Strawderman. It tells the story about the American songwriter Cole Porter who brought colours to the stages of Broadway and screens of Hollywood with his fresh, sexy and unexpected melodies. Expect to listen to his well-known songs including Night And Day, I Love Paris, Anything Goes, Let’s Do It, Miss Otis Regrets, Just One of Those Things, In The Still Of The Night and My Heart Belongs to Daddy. It will be performed in English with Thai surtitles.

The “Singha Music Presents Thaibreak Festival 2020” will bring an exciting international line-up showcasing the finest in House and Techno music whose appearances normally can be found in front of tens of thousands of people. Classical concert

The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) present the “RBSO Classical Concert No.2” featuring the orchestra’s principal clarinettist Yos Vaneesorn as soloist. The programme features three pieces by Romantic era German composers — Louis Spohr’s Overture In C Minor, Op 12; Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No.1 In F Minor, Op 73;
and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.1 In C Minor, Op 11. Conducting the orchestra will be Vanich Potavanich who has both performed trumpet and conducted around the world.

THEATRE Thai-Japanese production

The Japan Foundation Bangkok presents Lindbergh’s Flight, a contemporary theatre performance based on a play of the same title about the first solo transatlantic flight by Charles Lindbergh. Performed by Thai and Japanese artists who join hands under the collective name of Gecko Parade and Co, the Bangkok version brings the audiences a new experience and perspective towards space and art forms. They will follow Lindbergh’s journey and witness the difficulties he experienced while trying to reach his destination. The show is performed, in both Thai and Japanese with translations.

Dinner theatre

Bangkok Community Theatre is staging The Essential Marriage Of Figaro
as a dinner theatre. An adaptation of the classic Mozart comic opera, the studio production features a multinational cast of six from Canada, UK, Japan and Thailand and they will sing the enduring tunes in English. The story focuses on the main plot of The Marriage Of Figaro, itself an adaptation of the controversial play by French author Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais. This classic work is produced by Don Harrelson with Tony Newman as musical director.

The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (Abridged). A multinational ensemble cast of seven actresses take on the impossible — performing Shakespeare’s entire canon of 37 plays in 97 minutes. Through football plays, rap songs, and outrageously condensed, comedy mash-up titles (like Four Weddings And A Transvestite), the production hilariously summarises all of Shakespeare’s plays, using re-enactments and audience participation.

“Studies in [E]motion and Time” is a solo exhibition by former TV and film director Paul Holmes who provides a handful of glimpses into the primacy of the time dimension through four video installations and sound art. He uses still images, light, film, graphics and sound to renegotiate our understanding of modes of expression and viewing, of narrative and performance, often taking himself as the subject.

CAMP Music summer camp
Silpakorn Summer Music School is accepting applications for all string players of any ages (violin, viola, cello and double bass) to participate in a summer music camp at SCB Training Center on Sunset beach, Chon Buri from March 29 to April 5. CONTEST Perform as a pro
Held for the first time, the “Side By Side With The Thailand Phil” project is open to anyone wishing to perform as a professional musician with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.
