RAISING THE DRAWBRIDGE
The latest announcement by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) on March 19 requires travellers from all over the world to present health certificates for flying into Thailand.* The requirements are different for foreigners and Thai nationals.
❚ Foreign nationals
Require the presentation of:
1 Health certificate certifying that the passengers "pose no risk of being infected by the coronavirus disease (Covid-19)", issued no more than 72 hours prior to the date of travel
2 Health insurance/health insurance policy that shows minimum medical coverage of US$100,000 (3.2 million baht) in Thailand and covering the Covid-19 disease
❚ Thai nationals returning to Thailand
Require the presentation of:
1 Health certificate confirming that the passenger is fit to fly
2 Letter issued by Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Consular Office or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand certifying that the passenger is a Thai national returning to Thailand
❚ Foreign nationals
1 Present to the communicable disease control official:
(1) Health certificate / Insurance policy (2) Completed T8 form or "AOT Airport of Thailand" application which includes the passenger’s contact information and accommodation
2 Subject to isolation, quarantine, observation, or any other measures for the prevention and control of communicable diseases
❚ Thai nationals
1 Present the T8 form or "AOT Airport of Thailand" application to the communicable disease control official which includes the passenger's contact information and accommodation
2 Subject to isolation, quarantine, under observation, or any other measures for the prevention and control of communicable diseases
*Effective from midnight Thailand local time on March 22 (at the time of check-in at the airport of departure)
