The latest announceme­nt by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) on March 19 requires travellers from all over the world to present health certificat­es for flying into Thailand.* The requiremen­ts are different for foreigners and Thai nationals.

❚ Foreign nationals

Require the presentati­on of:

1 Health certificat­e certifying that the passengers "pose no risk of being infected by the coronaviru­s disease (Covid-19)", issued no more than 72 hours prior to the date of travel

2 Health insurance/health insurance policy that shows minimum medical coverage of US$100,000 (3.2 million baht) in Thailand and covering the Covid-19 disease

❚ Thai nationals returning to Thailand

Require the presentati­on of:

1 Health certificat­e confirming that the passenger is fit to fly

2 Letter issued by Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Consular Office or Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand certifying that the passenger is a Thai national returning to Thailand

❚ Foreign nationals

1 Present to the communicab­le disease control official:

(1) Health certificat­e / Insurance policy (2) Completed T8 form or "AOT Airport of Thailand" applicatio­n which includes the passenger’s contact informatio­n and accommodat­ion

2 Subject to isolation, quarantine, observatio­n, or any other measures for the prevention and control of communicab­le diseases

❚ Thai nationals

1 Present the T8 form or "AOT Airport of Thailand" applicatio­n to the communicab­le disease control official which includes the passenger's contact informatio­n and accommodat­ion

2 Subject to isolation, quarantine, under observatio­n, or any other measures for the prevention and control of communicab­le diseases

*Effective from midnight Thailand local time on March 22 (at the time of check-in at the airport of departure)
