Pretty in Paris
Last spring, Laura Mercier paid tribute to her two favourite cities in the Shades Of Paris & New York collection. The French make-up artist returns to La Ville Lumière for the Sunday In Saint Germain collection for spring 2020.
On the left bank of the River Seine, the vibrant SaintGermain-des-Prés neighbourhood is lined with cafés, art galleries, antique stores, designer boutiques and historic attractions. The district was the centre of French intellectualism and a meeting point for writers, artists and existentialists.
While a native of Provence, Mercier loves Paris, where she studied make-up artistry at Carita Beauty Institute. In the mid 1980s, she moved to the US and made it big in the magazine industry through creating stunning looks for covers and editorials.
The Sunday In Saint Germain’s imagery features a pretty Parisian chilling out in a café, while strutting the spring 2020 make-up look with glowing skin, pastel eyes and rich creamy lips.
The smooth complexion is created by priming the skin with Pure Canvas Primer Illuminating containing porcelain flower extract and micronised pearls that enhance its natural luminosity.
With microfine powders, Blush Colour Infusion gives cheeks a healthy-looking flush while the high-pearl Face Illuminator Highlighting Powder is applied on apples of the cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, eyelids and even décolletage and shoulders, for an all-over glow.
New shades have been added to Caviar Stick Eye Colour and Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick, with Bleu Ciel or Mint lending pastel eyes, and a sweep of Rose Mandarine or Magenta Dèlicate making a statement on lips.
