BE AN AGENT ÉLÉGANT

THIS JAMES BOND-THEMED MILITARY-STYLE WATCH IS A GREAT WAY TO SHOW OFF

- Story by NOKO

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the release of the 25th James Bond film has been postponed from April to November. Nevertheless, Omega has already unveiled the new timepiece worn by Agent 007

in No Time To Die.

Identical to the James Bond watch, the non-limited Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition has been placed in the current collection, and has been available worldwide since February. The film producers and star Daniel Craig were involved in the creation of the new model, with their knowledge of James Bond’s military needs determining a suitable timepiece for the British spy. “When working with Omega, we decided that a lightweight watch would be key for a military man like 007. I also suggested some vintage touches and colour to give the watch a unique edge. The final piece looks incredible, and it’s a comfortable watch to wear,”’ said Craig.

The comfort comes from the lightweight yet strong Grade 2 titanium case with a 42mm diameter.

The Swiss brand’s watch developers further decreased the weight by using aluminium for the bezel ring and dial. The colour of the aluminium replicates the aged tropical-brown hue that certain vintage dials acquire over time. The classic look is enhanced by Super-LumiNova, which fills the diving scale, blackened hands and indexes.

A series of numbers on the caseback follow the format of genuine military-issue watches.

0552 is the code-number specified for Navy personnel, with 923 7697 being the number for a divers’ watch. The letter A is a code used to signify a watch with a screw-in crown, while 007 is James Bond’s iconic agent number. Finally, the number 62 is the year of the very first James Bond film, Dr No (1962), starring Sean Connery. Craig is the sixth official James Bond, who took over from Pierce Brosnan for Casino Royale (2006). The English actor has worn the Seamaster Diver 300M, Planet Ocean 600M and Aqua Terra, as well as a Seamaster 300M with a Nato strap, in the previous four instalments of the franchise.

In No Time To Die, Bond’s latest on-screen watch is slightly slimmer than the standard Seamaster Diver 300M models, due to a special doming of the sapphire-crystal glass.

It can be matched with a titanium-mesh bracelet or a striped Nato strap in dark-brown, grey and beige with 007 engraved on the loop.
