Schoolkids get into e-commerce

- They are available exclusively on jd.co.th and JD Central App.

JD Central has launched the “Chuan Kan Ma Shop: Nong Nong Sook Jai” campaign featuring community products from the brains of students on its online shopping platform until June 5.

The campaign is part of the Equity Partnership’s School Network project, a collaboration by the Equitable Education

Fund, Shrewsbury International School and JD Central, which aims to expand more equitable educational opportunities for Thai students.

The project encourages students at 10 public schools in seven provinces — Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Loei, Ubon Ratchathani, Tak, Kanchanaburi and Surat

Thani — to earn extra income by coming up with creative ideas to produce unique products using local materials found in their communities. All the schools are under the Office of the Basic Education Commission.

Their ideas have been exchanged with students from Shrewsbury International School and further developed into real products for sale through e-commerce. They have also learned about marketing and e-commerce in workshops arranged by JD Central.

The products include reed bags, virgin cold pressed coconut oil, bamboo rice baskets, cloth bags made from fabric scraps, organic mulberry tea, tote bags, wall hangers made from recycled paper, pens with distinctive designs, multi-purpose cloth bags, and multi-purpose woven storage boxes.

Only 100 pieces of each product are available. All proceeds will go to the Equitable Education Fund to be redistributed to participating schools.
