Half-price holidays in Chon Buri

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Pattaya Office has launched a “TAT Hot Deal@Pattaya Chonburi” promotion to offer 50% discounts on accommodat­ion, food, spas and attraction­s.

The programme is a joint effort with the private sector including the Thai Hotels Associatio­n (Eastern Chapter), the Associatio­n of Chonburi Attraction­s, Pattaya Business and Tourism Associatio­n, Pattaya Spa Club and Pattaya Restaurant Club.

A total of 92 business owners participat­ed in the campaign including 42 hotels such as Cape Dara Resort, Oakwood Hotel & Residence Sri Racha and Pullman Pattaya Hotel G, plus 16 attraction­s like Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, Tuxedo Illusion Hall and Ramayana Water Park, and 29 restaurant­s and five spas.

About 8,000 vouchers will be available on the Shopee website (shopee.co.th). TAT limits the right for one person to purchase the vouchers at a maximum of five per time. The promotion is available until Sept 15. After purchasing, customers need to contact the service providers to redeem the vouchers within seven days after purchasing. The vouchers can be used between July 15 to Dec 24.

Samet speedboat services return

Speedboats and tourist ferries to Koh Samet in Rayong resumed services yesterday.

The point of entry to the island is limited to only the pier of the Provincial Administra­tive Organisati­on of Rayong. Private piers are not yet allowed to operate. The service hours start from 6am to 6pm.

Passengers must wear masks and use Thai Chana app to check in before boarding a boat.

Koh Samet is part of Khao Laem Ya-Koh Samet National Park. Although the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmen­t require all visitors to national parks to make reservatio­ns through the QueQ app, it is an exemption for visiting Koh Samet.

Some activities on the island are not yet allowed such as snorkellin­g tours and jet ski service. Beach access is limited from 6am to 6pm.

Thai VietJet Air will launch direct flights from Bangkok to Hat Yai and to Khon Kaen this month.

The airline will fly 10 weekly flights to Hat Yai. The first flight will start on July 17. It will depart from Suvarnabhu­mi airport at 7am and 3.25pm every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The flight will reduce to a daily morning flight every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The return flights will depart from Hat Yai airport at 10.35am and 5.20pm. The travel time is about one hour and 30 minutes.

The service between Bangkok and Khon Kaen will start on July 30. The airline will fly two daily flights. The outbound flights from Bangkok will depart at 7.30am and 3.45pm. The inbound flight from Khon Kaen will depart at 9.05am and 5.20pm. The flying time is about one hour.

AirAsia plans to launch a direct flight between Phuket and Kuala Lumpur, starting on July 17.

The flight will be available four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The outbound flight will depart from Phuket Internatio­nal Airport at 1.35pm. The inbound flight will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 12.30pm. The travel time is one hour and 30 minutes. The flight will be operated by AirAsia Berhad (Malaysia).

Prices for a night stay start at 1,400 baht for a Studio Suite in Kantary Bay Hotel in Rayong, 1,600 baht for Deluxe room in Kantary Hotel Korat and 1,700 baht for Studio Suite in Kantary Hotel Ayutthaya.
