Offering all-day fun and brunch in a backyard garden ambience, the roofless lawnscape is hidden yet welcoming.

It serves homestyle Western cuisine, basically light-bites, salads, pizza, burgers and allday breakfast, each inspired by a classic recipe yet with some new twists.

Marinated artichoke salad (280 baht), golden chicken pie (250 baht), Australian wagyu burger with Béarnaise sauce (380 baht) and Nutella pizza (250 baht) are among the recommende­d dishes.

Hide Park is pet friendly. There’s a special selection of ice cream deliberate­ly concocted for dogs but with human-grade ingredient­s.

Street-side parking space can be difficult to find so it’s better to take a cab or arrive in a car pool.

The impeccable cuisine, classic Cantonese with a 21st-century edge, by chef Cheng Kam Sing of Silk Road restaurant promises to make a dineout affair very rewarding.

Most recommende­d dishes include double-boiled fresh fish maw soup (790 baht); dim sum trio hors d’oeuvre platter (380 baht); stirfried spinach with Yunnan ham (320 baht); and sautéed sea whelk with jiang bao sauce (900 baht).

Currently at the top of the bestseller list is signature Peking duck with caviar (1,600 baht). A whole pre-roasted duck is flambéed with orange-flavoured liqueur and served neatly-carved with the meat and skin intact and to be enjoyed with soft pancake, fresh vegetable stick, a special sauce and a helping of caviar.

The leftover meat is served as a second course. Choose from preparatio­ns such as deep-fried with garlic, sautéed with vegetables and stir-fried with sweet basil and chillies.

Double-boiled gingko nuts and Japanese pumpkin cream in young coconut (260 baht) is a must-order dessert.

At this Michelin-star restaurant by chef Vichit Mukura, every single detail is pleasantly on point and precise, especially during this time of social devastatio­n.

From the 100-item menu, highly recommende­d to start off a meal are deep-fried prawn cake ingrained with squid meat and squid ink (310 baht); pomelo salad with prawns and chicken (350 baht); and salad of young sea blites and prawn (320 baht).

For side dishes to eat with rice, phad phrik khing pla duk fu (360 baht); pot-cooked Thaistyled omelette with crabmeat (690 baht); and lamb shank in yellow curry (650 baht) prove the best in the city.

Green pandan dumplings (khanom inthanin) in coconut milk accompanie­d by pandan tapioca pudding (250 baht) is a musthave dessert.

Almost all dishes on the menu are available for takeaway and delivery. Additional­ly, there’s “Pinto By Khao” developed especially for home delivery services with prices range from 100 baht per dish.

Met Cafe’s 75-item menu is built around homestyle recipes crafted from the owners’ favourite dishes.

Worth having starters include French onion soup (320 baht); rocket soup (250 baht); crab cake Benedict salad (390 baht); and fritto misto di mare, an assortment of deep-fried seafood (550 baht) which takes cues from the owners’ favourite dish during their trips to Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Braised oxtail (650 baht) is among Bangkok’s best. Meanwhile African rhapsody grilled chicken (590 baht) is not-to-be-missed.

An additional menu featuring khao tomstyled delicacies is on offer from 6pm. The taste is gourmet but prices are street-level.

Met Cafe is also a paradise for Western-styled dessert and homemade ice cream. Highly recommend are and banana butterscot­ch upside down tart with ice cream (350 baht) and homemade ice cream (120-150 baht per scoop).

Clientele is a lovely mix of young profession­als and families in the Sukhumvit neighbourh­ood. Quality of service is well above standard.
