MAINTAIN SWING PLANE TO PLAY CONSISTENTLY WELL

- Brett Brasier

Ihave contacted several Thai clubs to help compile an analysis of just how the coronavirus has hit their cash flow, and for the clubs relying on the golf tourists, several have seen an 80 percent reduction in income over the past five “virus-restricted” months. This is the serious reality of where many golf courses are now.

The optimism that Mr Pars expressed last week proved spot on, as his even par score at the Memorial was sufficient for joint 10th place.

His prize money of just short of US$235,000 was extremely welcome, and will pay bills accumulated over the past weeks of earning zilch from the previous tournaments.

This means when you draw the club back to the top of the backswing and then bring it down to the strike and on into the through swing, you should try to maintain as near as possible the same swing plane.

One of the big secrets in playing consistently well is to have the sensation that you are bringing up the club behind you in the backswing and then down into the through swing with an awareness of one direct swing plane — in other words, no looping.
