Driver arrested over rubbish spill

CITY: The driver of a rubbish truck who blocked traffic yesterday morning after his vehicle overturned on the outbound Rama IX Road, spilling two tonnes of waste, was arrested, police said.

He was only identified as Paradorn, who was on his way from Ratchathewi district office to a waste disposal plant in the Onnut area when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a barrier.

The truck rolled onto one side, spilling waste and blocking two lanes.

Police said they found some methamphetamine in the driver’s possession. After a hospital visit, Mr Paradorn was taken to Hua Mak station for questioning.
