‘Brainstorm’ to end conflict: poll

SURVEY: Most Thais believe the nation should come together to brainstorm ways to resolve longstandi­ng conflicts which have polarised the country, says a survey by the Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, or Suan Dusit Poll.

When asked if it is now time for all concerned to think up new ways to overcome their difference­s, 91.8% of the 1,263 respondent­s agreed, while only 8.13% said otherwise. When asked who should take the leading role in deescalati­ng the conflict, 27.4% cited the conflictin­g groups, while 26.7% said the prime minister; 24.3% the general population; 12.8% officials; and 8.65% students and youth.
