TOMATO-MANIA ARRIVES AT SIAM DISCOVERY
Doi Kham invites everyone to enter the world of tomatoes during the “Discover Doi: From Farm To City” exhibition, which is running at the Co-Creation Space, 3rd floor of Siam Discovery, Rama I Road, daily from 10am to 8pm, until Oct 8.
Held with the goal to get people to learn more about how Doi Kham produces tomato juice, one of the brand’s signature products, the exhibition features three drawings that illustrate the journey of Doi Kham tomatoes from the farm to our hands.
Called The Road Of Tomato, the first drawing shows prosperous tomato farmland in the upper part of the northeastern region of Thailand. The second portrays how the red fruits are carefully selected by farmers at a vertical tomato farm using wood sticks to help support the stalks to reduce any chance of tomatoes touching the ground and becoming rotten.
The last drawing features “E-tak”, a traditional vehicle that farmers in the northeast normally use to carry tomatoes that have been picked at the right time and are ready for the production stage where they will be processed into products.
The exhibition is enhanced with AR (augmented reality) technology and 3D video, which is used to tell more stories, such as why the tomato is considered a gift from nature, the origins of the fruit, its history, and how Thai people consume it.
Visitors will also learn how Doi Kham has provided knowledge on tomato cultivation to promote the skills of farmers in the upper part of the northeast and how tomato products are the pride of the brand.
There is also a pop-up market offering special promotions such as a free fabric face mask with tomato motifs for every 350 baht spent on Doi Kham products, plus a free personalised mug for every purchase of 500 baht on Saturday and Sunday.
Expect to try Doi Kham’s 100% natural tomato juice in three flavours — Tomato Sunrise, Tomato Sunshine and Tomato Sunset. It’s available for 80 baht per glass.
