Veggie fest is an absolute feast for non-meat eaters
Vegetarians have only six days to enjoy delicious meat-free dining during “The Mall Legendary J-Fest”, which is running at five branches of The Mall shopping centre — Thapra, Ngamwongwan, Bangkae, Bangkapi and Korat — until Sunday.
Held for the 21st year, the festival is bringing over 3,000 vegetarian savoury dishes and sweet delights from a selection of 300 renowned shops and legendary restaurants located in seven areas across Bangkok.
This is the only chance of the year for lovers of vegetarian food to indulge in their favourite dishes from eateries that are gathering to serve their signature dishes.
Among the participating shops and restaurants are Kao Tom Plang Nam, Tae Jin Seng Bakery, Kan Kee Nam Tao Thong and Nam Dao Huu Plang Nam from Yaowarat known as Bangkok’s Chinatown; Hormok Pudding, Curry Puff Khun Pu, Juy Kuoy Talat Noi Rai Pee and Tofu Sawasdee Mae Ole from Talat Noi; and Michelin-star Baan Phadthai, Je Niao Boi Kia and Sor Boonprakobpanich from Bang Rak district.
Diners will be able to try sumptuous dishes from Guey Chai Talat Plu and Chorleng Mee Krached from Talat Phlu; Jae Tuh Klongtoey, Hokkee Phochana and Seng Sim Ee Lue Lun Sataan Logun from Rama IV; Veganerie, Pinto Sam Si and Hua Seng Hong Dim Sum from Sukhumvit; and Sao Suan Gang, Bamboo Garden Healthy Vegetarian Food Restaurant, and Jae Puk Kitchen Or Tor Kor Market from Saphan Khwai.
The festival is set to an atmosphere of an ancient Chinese city with spectacular decorations.
