On board the clean beauty movement, Kanyachat Lerttanapaiboon references EU regulation in excluding 1,500 controversial ingredients from Her Hyness skincare products.

The relaunch of Her Hyness as a clean beauty brand recently took place at EveandBoy Siam Square One.

“The clean beauty movement has led to a scrutiny around the use of ingredients. With that in mind, we care about every ingredient that goes into our product as well as those to avoid in the formulation,” said Kanyachat, managing director of Maison Royal.

The label highlights that Her Hyness products are free from 14 harsh chemicals, namely fragrance, alcohol, parabens, hydroquinone, mineral oil, dyes, phthalates, formaldehyde, BHA, AHA, BHT, retinol, sulfates and steroids.

Some of them on this list gave her skin problems, particularly from irritation or an over-peeling effect.

This led to research on non-irritating natural ingredients to rejuvenate her skin. Kanyachat found royal jelly as her beauty solution, and established the Maison Royal company to launch the Her Hyness brand.

“In the past, I did not care much what ingredients were in the skincare products that I used, as long as they made my skin bright and beautiful.

But that superficial mindset damaged my skin more than I could imagine, and before I knew it, my skin was already ruined,” she said. “We want every woman to have the best skin without undesirable side effects, and our dermatologically-tested skincare products are effective yet safe and gentle.”

The hero ingredient, royal jelly is sourced from Switzerland. Secreted

by worker black bees, the nutritious substance serves as food for the queen and larvae bees.

Her Hyness skincare products feature the Swiss royal jelly, whose principal component 10-hydroxy-trans2-decenoic acid (10H2DA) provides potential skincare effects.

The high concentration of royal jelly, as much as 95%, is combined with honey extract and beta glucan from mushroom mycelial as well as organic rice milk and organic betaine from sugar beet molasses for the Royale Deep Skin Restoring Essence.

The honey extract is replaced by liquorice extract in the recipe for the Royale Intense Hydrating Cream.

Intensive ampoule treatments include Royal C White Shot with liposomal vitamin C and Royal Hya Skin Strengthening Shot with nine types of hyaluronic acid.

Made from natural fibres regenerated from wood, Wrinkle-Free Silk Mask is quenched with an anti-ageing serum containing royal jelly, zinc, collagen and caviar extract.

The royal jelly teams up with arbutin, pearl powder and olive extract in a brightening serum delivered by Instant Glow Black Mask made from Japanese binchotan charcoal.

Her Hyness products are tested by Dermscan Asia as well as the Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health.
