Teerasil ready to join hands with Diogo

- TOR CHITTINAND

Thailand international Teerasil Dangda is hoping to form a lethal striking partnership with Diogo Luis Santo at his new Thai League 1 club BG Pathum United.

Teerasil, who completed a mandatory quarantine at a state facility a few days ago following his return from Japan, yesterday joined the Rabbits’ training session for the first time after signing a deal with the runaway topflight leaders recently.

The Thai striker yesterday told media that his aim was to help his new team succeed.

“It was my first day to train with the team and the atmosphere here was great,” said Teerasil, the former Muang

Thong United star, whose contract with Japanese side Shimizu S-Pulse expired last month following an unsuccessful spell in J1 League.

He added: “I’m delighted to have joined BG Pathum United, a club that is obviously keen to win trophies. They have shown their ambition by signing some good players and I’m happy to be part of the team.”

The Rabbits now have the most lethal strike force in the domestic league with Teerasil teaming up with Brazilian marksman Diogo, who also joined the Rabbits recently.

They are two of the most prolific strikers in the Thai league history.

Teerasil said: “We have played each other many times as opponents [Diogo played for Buriram United while Teerasil played for Muang Thong United], but this is the first time we will be playing together.

“I believe that we can learn a lot from each other and help the team reach their target.”
