January and February: Nasi kandar, a popular northern Malaysian dish, is a seasonal highlight at Plate restaurant. The dish, presented in a multi-tier tiffin box, comes with steamed rice and a variety of side dishes such as Singapore rojak, okra belachan, prawn crackers, beef rendang, prawns sambal and curry chicken. Prices are 450 baht for an individual­ly-portioned set and 790 baht for a two-person set.

January: Every weekend, all-you-can-eat Cantonese dim sum lunch is on offer at Dynasty Chinese restaurant at 850 baht per person. Expect to find highlighte­d items such as deepfried fish spring rolls, steamed snow fish with black bean sauce and steamed shrimp dumpling with Japanese pumpkin.

Highlights include roasted leg of lamb; herbcruste­d Australian prime rib; classic Italian roast porchette; whole smoked ham bone-in pork leg; beef flank steak, kurobuta pork neck; barbecue seafood; classic Peking duck and traditiona­l Umbrian hunter-style chicken stew.

January: An afternoon tea set is offered at Erawan Tea Room at 750 baht per person. The set comprises bite-sized savoury delicacies and desserts such as crab brioche with tarragon; pork and cheese croque monsieur; beef barbecue and quails egg puff pastry; coppa and Parmesan bread with pickle and Vitello sauce; orange sorbet; chocolate Thai tea tart; passion fruit curd with banana Chantilly mousse; burnt cheesecake; mango with sticky rice; apple caramel crumble and scones served with clotted cream and homemade jam and a choice of non-alcoholic beverage.

January: Black grouper is a highlighte­d ingredient of the month at Yok Chinese restaurant. Dishes includes black grouper hot pot; steamed black grouper with soy sauce and egg; and stir-fried black grouper with black pepper.

Mandarin Oriental (02-659-9000)

January: Lord Jim’s restaurant offers premium delivery service daily from 11am to 8pm. Featured menu includes Seafood Tower with condiments, classic beef Wellington, salt-baked sea bass and organic roast chicken. A selection of side dishes are such as sautéed organic spring vegetables and steamed sweetcorn with truffle butter and garlic. While highly recommende­d dessert is molten Madagascar chocolate torte.

January: Prempracha­korn restaurant offers a 50% discount on Thai and internatio­nal a la carte dishes and takeaways as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Dishes include braised pork knuckle, pork belly stewed with tofu and egg, Caesar salad, club sandwich, mushroom cream soup, shake bento set, tori bento set, buta bento set, tonkatsu, tempura bento set and saba bento set.

January: Yamazato Japanese restaurant offers gozen lunch set and multi-course kaiseki dinner menu highlighti­ng winter ingredient­s such as snow crab, oyster, daikon and monkfish. Expect to find dishes such as crabmeat dumpling and shimeji mushroom; grilled Spanish mackerel with canola white sauce, dried miso and omelette; fresh soy milk skin with steamed sea urchin, okra and starchy soy sauce; herring roe with crabmeat, eggplant and maitake mushroom; monkfish liver dumpling and mushroom with yuzu; and a grill platter of sabelfish and Wagyu beef. Prices are 1,500 baht for lunch and 4,700 baht for dinner. Meanwhile Up & Above internatio­nal restaurant’s highlighte­d dishes are grilled sea bass with miso, quinoa crust, barley and fennel citrus salad; pan-seared sea bass with tomato concasse, crushed potato and yuzu cream sauce; poached sea bass with dashi broth,

leek and Japanese sesame. Available daily for dinner with prices starting at 750 baht per dish.

January: A special “Solo Harp Edition” afternoon tea with live musical performanc­e is offered at the lobby lounge at 990 baht per person. The set includes a selection of homemade savouries and sweets paired with a choice of Lavazza coffee or Ronnefeldt tea. Highlights include foie gras mousseline tartlet; mini lobster brioche; smoked salmon rillettes bagel; rosemary ham soft roll; egg salad mille-feuille, avruga caviar; almond-and-passionfru­it pastries; Charlotte cake, vanilla bavaroise; sesame, raspberry and vanilla shortbread; Valrhona chocolate opera cake; upside-down hazelnut mascarpone Chantilly choux; and lemon berry tartlet.

January: Every Sunday, Volti Terrace offers an all-you-can-eat selection of seafood including freshly shucked oysters, Japanese sushi and sashimi, cold cuts and cheese, Italian pizza and antipasti and barbecued items at 1,399 baht net for adults. Kids aged six to 11 years old pay half price.
