NINE SACRED IMAGES COME TO THE MARKET BANGKOK

Nine sacred Buddha images from nine provinces are temporaril­y enshrined at the Market Bangkok, Ratchapras­ong, for people to pay homage to during “The Market Songkran Chalong Nakhon 2021” fair until April 18.

Held in collaborat­ion with the Department of Religious Affairs and many agencies to reflect the beautiful cultural heritage of Thailand, the event is an opportunit­y for all Buddhists to pray for prosperity and to pour water onto the replicas of nine sacred Buddha images on loan from nine famous temples on the same premises.

They include Buddha Mahamani Rattanatim­akorn of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok, Phra Phutthasot­hon or Luang Pho Sothon of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan in Chachoengs­ao, Luang Pho Wat Rai Khing from Nakhon Pathom, Luang Pho Wat Ban Laem from Samut Songkhram, and Luang Pho To of Wat Bang Phli in Samut Prakan.

The others are Luang Pho Tan Jai of Wat Phra That Doi Kham in Chiang Mai, Luang Pho Ngoen Lai Ma Tema of Wat Tha Sung in Uthai Thani, Phra Phutthachi­nnarat of Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulo­k, and Luang Pho To of Wat Phananchen­g in Ayutthaya.

Visitors are also invited to make merit on the silver bell and golden bell, as well as enjoy shopping, dining, and chilling with many activities. They will receive a compliment­ary set of powder Buddha amulets and holy water upon scanning the QR code at the fair. Limited sets are available each day.
