Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has sold her Beverly Hills estate for about $47 million, after putting it on the market just over a month ago for $53.5 million, according to a person familiar with the deal.

The deal is a quick turnaround for the television personality.

Ms. DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, purchased the home in May 2019 for $42.5 million from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, according to public records and people familiar with the situation.

A spokeswoman for Ms. DeGeneres did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The identity of the buyer could not immediately be determined.

The traditional ivy-covered estate was recently renovated and spans about 10,000 square feet with five bedrooms, according to the listing from Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency.

The property has steel doors and windows, a resort-like pool, an outdoor kitchen, a sunken tennis court, a two-story entry foyer with wide-plank reclaimed wood floors, a 50-foot living room with a stone fireplace and white plaster walls, a large dining room with a bar, a paneled library, a gym and a screening room. There is also a separate guest house.

The estate was also previously owned by the tennis player Pete Sampras, records show.

Last year, Ms. DeGeneres bought a $49 million estate in Montecito, California, from Dennis Miller, comedian and political commentator, and his wife, former model Carolyn Espley-Miller,
