Number 1 Gallery presents “Apart But Together”, a soothing exhibition that will encourage everyone to get through these difficult times with strength and grace.

Running from Saturday to July 31, the show will feature oil paintings by Suwannee Sarakana who expresses tender love and care within a family from the viewpoint of a mother who believes physical distance among family members caused by the current situation can never make them feel far from each other.

Her works focus on the protective love a mother has for her child which will only increase in times of danger. This is reflected through images of the protective embrace of a mother’s arms ready to console her child and keep their panic at bay.

For this exhibition, the artist aims to portray a happy moment through her imaginative world that is filled with peace and love. She has chosen to use certain signs to indicate beauty, liveliness and fragility.

They are apparent in Young Mermaid I and Young Mermaid ll which reflect the innocence of children who enjoy the world and are unaware of any danger that often hides in darkness around them while the other works Safe Child I and Safe Child II show how a mother’s embrace can make her child feel safe.

Suwannee is a graduate with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. She has received awards in many contests and participated in many group exhibitions.

Number 1 Gallery is on Silom 21 and opens Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
