TOUGHENING UP DEFENCES
The government has imposed new, tougher measures in an attempt to curb soaring Covid-19 infections within two to four weeks, effective from Monday.
For Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon.
All office workers to work from home Public transportation to close from 9pm to 3am
Convenience stores and markets to close from 8pm to 4am
Department stores and community malls to close except supermarkets, food and drink shops, banks, pharmacies, communication device stores and vaccination sites located on the premises which can stay open until 8pm
Spas, beauty centres and health massage parlors to close
Public parks to close at 8pm Social gatherings of more than five people are forbidden
For 10 provinces (Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Songkhla
No unnecessary trips outside the home from 9pm to 4am
Restricted interprovincial travel and checkpoints set up (effective today)

Vaccination allocation For 1.5 million US-donated Pfizer vaccine doses
1,350,000 for Thai nationals and 150,000 for foreigners
Medical personnel and health workers as a booster dose
Adults aged over 60 and people living with seven underlying conditions
Foreigners in Thailand (elderly and people with underlying conditions are prioritised)
Those who are required to get vaccinated before going abroad (students, athletes, diplomats, etc)

Some 80% of vaccine supplies this month are to be allocated to people in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area with priority given to adults aged 60 and over, and people living with seven underlying conditions
