A WEDDING TO REMEMBER
It was a day of vows and family bonding when Kamolnan Chearavanont and Chanand Sophonpanich tied the knot and celebrated their wedding earlier this week at Chatrium Grand Bangkok.
The bride Kamolnan is the only daughter of Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group, and Busadee Chearavanont. The groom is the second son of Bangkok Bank president Chartsiri Sophonpanich and Ninthira Sophonpanich.
One of Bangkok’s grandest events, the royally-sponsored wedding celebration was presided over by president of the Privy Council Gen Surayud Chulanont. The wedding reception was warmly attended by distinguished guests including politicians and businesspeople as well as family members and friends who turned up in full to wish the newlyweds a long-lasting and happy married life.
Among the distinguished guests were Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chano-cha and his wife Naraporn Chan-ocha; Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon; and Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paojinda.
Kamolnan graduated with a bachelor’s degree majoring in social work from New York University in the United States and then a master’s degree in International Educational Development from Teachers College of Columbia University.
Today, she serves as Strategic Project Development director for Trueplookpanya, True Corporation as well as president of the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for underprivileged and vulnerable groups.
At the age of 14, Kamolnan founded the Voices Foundation for Vulnerable Children to lend a helping hand to orphans and stateless people.
Chanand graduated bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University in the United States. Today, he works as a banking specialist at Bangkok Bank.
