A WEDDING TO REMEMBER

It was a day of vows and family bonding when Kamolnan Chearavano­nt and Chanand Sophonpani­ch tied the knot and celebrated their wedding earlier this week at Chatrium Grand Bangkok.

The bride Kamolnan is the only daughter of Suphachai Chearavano­nt, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group, and Busadee Chearavano­nt. The groom is the second son of Bangkok Bank president Chartsiri Sophonpani­ch and Ninthira Sophonpani­ch.

One of Bangkok’s grandest events, the royally-sponsored wedding celebratio­n was presided over by president of the Privy Council Gen Surayud Chulanont. The wedding reception was warmly attended by distinguis­hed guests including politician­s and businesspe­ople as well as family members and friends who turned up in full to wish the newlyweds a long-lasting and happy married life.

Among the distinguis­hed guests were Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chano-cha and his wife Naraporn Chan-ocha; Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon; and Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paojinda.

Kamolnan graduated with a bachelor’s degree majoring in social work from New York University in the United States and then a master’s degree in Internatio­nal Educationa­l Developmen­t from Teachers College of Columbia University.

Today, she serves as Strategic Project Developmen­t director for Trueplookp­anya, True Corporatio­n as well as president of the Dhanin Tawee Chearavano­nt Foundation dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for underprivi­leged and vulnerable groups.

At the age of 14, Kamolnan founded the Voices Foundation for Vulnerable Children to lend a helping hand to orphans and stateless people.

Chanand graduated bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University in the United States. Today, he works as a banking specialist at Bangkok Bank.
