- AEKARACH SATTABURUTH

The Chartpattanakla Party yesterday unveiled four new members, including the former leader of the Ruam Thai United Party Voranai Vanijaka, ahead of the general election.

Party leader Korn Chatikavanij said Chartpattanakla is a party for all Thais, and it’s ready to work with all generations to attain the goal of elevating the people’s standard of living.

Mr Korn said the general election is a chance to bring positive changes to Thailand.

He said the party is finetuning its policy platforms, so they will effectively address the problems that people face, such as high living costs, job security, and welfare for the elderly.

To drive such changes, the party needs a team with members who are expected to have innovative ideas, experience, dedication, and passion, Mr Korn said, adding that his party has all these elements.

Mr Voranai, who co-founded the Ruam Thai United in October last year, said he has been in talks with Mr Korn over the past several months and found that Chartpattanakla Party’s platform of transforming the country “clicked” with him.

He said the party’s policies on the distribution of power, legalisation of casinos, and a rainbow economy are among those he is keen on, he said.

But these cannot materialise without equality and the government’s commitment, he said.

At the media event, Mr Voranai also introduced the “My Life My Goal” project which is designed to help people realise that the country belongs to everyone.

Mr Vornai is a veteran journalist, who worked as an editor and columnist at the Bangkok Post before founding Thisrupt.co online news outlet where he was the editor-in-chief.

In addition to Mr Voranai, the three others who joined the Chartpattanakla Party — Kobkrit Suksathit, Woratham sae Ngow, and Panjadej Singtho.
