Prem appointed ONE head of operations in Thailand

-

Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, has appointed Prem Busarabavonwongs as managing director of ONE Championship Thailand.

The news came not too long after ONE announced a partnership with Channel 7 HD and Tero Entertainment earlier this month.

“Please join me in congratulating Prem Busarabavonwongs on joining ONE as the managing director of ONE Thailand. Effective immediately, Prem will now be the country head for Thailand, leading all aspects of the business,” Chatri said.

Prem is the heir to a successful family business run by his father, Banjong Busaraworawong, who has extensive experience in the boxing industry.

He is the founder of the internationally renowned sports equipment brand Fairtex, which also operates the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya.

Many of the gym’s most well-known athletes have competed in ONE events, including ONE atomweight world grand prix champion Stamp Fairtex, Saempetch Fairtex, Yodkaikaew Fairtex and Ferrari Fairtex.

Prem has also been an organising partner of the Road to ONE series, a platform that let Muay Thai rising stars showcase their abilities and win a contract to compete in ONE Championship.

Chatri expressed his optimism about Prem’s involvement in the organisation, citing an African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

The appointment of Prem is a testament to the organisation’s trust and confidence in him.

This is due in part to the success of the Road to ONE tournament, which saw three rising stars sign with ONE in different divisions in October.

With Prem now at the helm, ONE is poised to further achieve its mission of connecting people through martial arts with the values of “We Are ONE.”
