Air NZ takes dig at Prince Harry

Air New Zealand took a dig at Prince Harry on social media on Friday, promoting a “SussexClass” in response to the Duke of Sussex’s claim that his wife had booked a first-class seat on the airline.

In his newly published memoir Spare, Harry said Meghan Markle had booked an Air New Zealand flight from Mexico to England in 2018 for her father, Thomas Markle. However, the airline says it has never operated a flight between the two countries and offers a Business Premier service rather than first class. “Introducing #SussexClass, apparently coming soon,” Air New Zealand posted on Facebook and Twitter, referring to Harry and Meghan’s titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The post also included emojis of a crown and shifty eyes.

Hollywood ‘glorifies’ Escobar

The son of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar says a glorified Hollywood image of gangster life has wrongfully inspired young people to seek a life of crime. “Today, 30 years after his death, Pablo Escobar generates more news than when he was alive,” Sebastian Marroquin said of his late father.

Marroquin, 45, who stopped using his father’s surname in disgust decades ago, said he hears from young fans of the Colombian drug kingpin frequently. “Many young people write to me to say I want to be like your father,” said Marroquin, an architect who lives in Buenos Aires.

Police gunned down Escobar in 1993 as he fled across rooftops in his native Medellin, hub of his narcotics empire.

“My father should not be treated as an example of success because he could never enjoy anything,” Marroquin said. “I feel far richer than my father because I am a free man.”
