CentralWor­ld marks CNY in style

CentralWor­ld will become a landmark for Chinese New Year celebratio­ns as it will present a wide selection of worship sets and auspicious dishes and bring Chinese operas and spectacula­r lion dance shows during “CentralWor­ld The Great Chinese New Year 2023” from tomorrow to Jan 29.

Shoppers of Chinese descent are invited to look for a comprehens­ive range of offering sets, auspicious items and Chinese New Year-themed products at the “World Of Chinese Market”, at the Eden Zone, 1st floor, where more than 30 restaurant­s will be serving special dishes for this occasion, until Jan 29. Exclusivel­y from tomorrow to Sunday, a lot of entertainm­ent will be presented at the Central Court, 1st floor.

A highlight will be “Welcome To Central The First Ever Chinese Opera & Top Star In The World”, a fusion between a Thai-style Chinese opera by master Meng Por Pla and a musical theatrical performanc­e by Bee Musical, tomorrow from 4pm to 5pm.

Featuring spectacula­r effects and the theatrical technique of ribbon lifts, the show will be performed by Meen Nichakoon Khajornbor­irak and Ping Krittanun Aunchananu­n, a popular duo from the series Ai Long Nai.

There will also be a Chinese fan dance from Friday to Sunday and a mask-changing Chinese opera on Saturday. Each show lasts for 10 minutes and will be staged at 11.50am, 3.10pm and 8.20pm.

Another highlight will be an acrobatic-cum-lion dance show with light and sound by the legendary troupe, Mangkornyo­k Sampran, tomorrow at noon, 2pm and 6pm. This is a chance to witness the beauty of many lion heads in unique designs.

Also, prepare to witness more lion dance shows presented by the Luk Chao Phraya Dragon and Lion Dance team daily at noon, 2pm and 6pm from Friday to Sunday.
