‘Collective Language: Sensory Architecture” is the concept of Architect’24, which invites everyone to experience architecture through exhibitions, pavilions and activities, at Impact Challenger 1-3 of Muang Thong Thani, daily from 10am to 8pm, from April 30 until May 5.

Hailed as Asean’s largest building technology exposition, the event will showcase designs and architectural works that can be felt, sensed and understood beyond boundaries.

The main exhibition is “Collective Language: Sensing Architecture”, which will bring a selection of architectural works from 12 leading architects in Asia. Their works reveal the essential character of Asian architecture and raise a question about languages in architecture that can become common in the future.

The exhibition will also display works selected by 22 member institutes of the Architects Regional Council Asia (Arcasia) to form a cluster of languages that communicate the future of the region.

Another highlight is “ASA All Member: Collective Practices”, which will be held to mark the 90th anniversary of the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA). On showcase will be a collection of works from members of ASA, Thailand Interior Designers’ Association (TIDA), Thai Association of Landscape

Architects (TALA), and Thai Urban Designers Association (TUDA).

This is an opportunity for visitors to experience organisational cultures, processes and inspirations behind the designs and architectural works and ask questions about the future roles of architects together.

A continuation of the “Human Library”, which was part of Architect’23 last year, the “Collective Experience” exhibition is where local and foreign architects share stories and knowledge with the audience to create a common understanding that transcends race and language.

Then, see creative works from the ASA Experimental Design Competition 2024, which was open to ASA members, university students and the general public to submit entries under the theme “Sensing Bangkok”. They will be exhibited alongside the winning structures and designs from ASA Architectural Conservation Award and ASA Architectural Design Award 2024.

The expo will also be packed with interesting activities, including ASA Club, a meeting and resting space for ASA members; ASA Night 2024, an annual gathering of ASA members; consulting services by architect volunteers; ACT+ ASA Shop selling books and souvenirs; and ASA Book Shop offering books from educational institutes and architecture organisations.

Scheduled for May 4 and 5 is the ASA International Forum 2024 where top international designers and experts will be sharing knowledge on design, technical information and professional practices under the theme “Collective Language: Critical Regionalism In Architecture”.
