Phuket marathon returns in June

-

Running enthusiasts are invited to join “2024 Laguna Phuket Marathon Presented by Supersports”, which will take place at Laguna Phuket on June 8 and 9.

This year’s running event is expected to see more than 10,000 runners and visitors from over 40 countries compete in what has become Southeast Asia’s favourite marathon.

Now in its 18th year, the award-winning marathon is one of the longest-running international sports events in Phuket and is reputed for its family-friendly atmosphere, world-class standard and warm Thai hospitality.

This year’s edition attracts all demographics, from children and families and top talent from Thailand and overseas, with Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK as the top five international participating countries.

As in previous years, the race is divided into six categories. The popular two-day format has the 2km kids run, 5km and 10km take place on the morning of June 8; and the half marathon (21km), marathon relay (42km) and marathon (42km) on the morning of June 9.

The race will start and finish at Laguna Grove of Laguna Phuket and the scenic course passes the stunning beaches of Nai Yang, Layan and Bang Tao. It will also take runners through local villages and lush tropical landscapes.

During the online registration process, runners are invited to contribute to the Laguna Phuket Foundation’s Children First Fund which supports more than 400 underprivileged children in orphanages on the island.

Registrations can be made via phuketmarathon.com/ registration.
