Dogan rolls out in Russia with e-commerce
Yandex.market, an e-commerce joint venture with Sberbank, which has already signed a deal with Turkish retailer Ziylan Group, has now added to its reach with another deal that will expand the Turkish footprint in the CIS region, according to Kerim Ulker of Daily DUNYA.
The Russian venture has partnered with Dogan Groups’s Hepsiburada. com, the Turkish online retailer. The two leading online retailers will now join forces to provide a larger choice of goods to customers in the CIS region. Yandex.market will be selling Hepsiburada.com’s portfolio to its existing clients. Some five million products sold in Hepsiburada will also be listed on the Russian online retailer,
The deal will allow Russian customers to have full access to the Hepsiburada.com platform where they can shop for clothes, shoes, accessories, home textile products and small appliances.
Hepsiburada.com was established by Hanzade Dogan Boyner in 2001 and receives an average of 21 million visitors monthly. Yandex has been active in Turkey since 2011 and is managed by Mehmet Ali Yalcindag, the former board member of Dogan Holding.
Yandex.market is trying to become a global online retailer, like Alibaba and Amazon. The Russian company’s partnership with Ziylan Group in Turkey has paved the way for brands like Polaris, Flo, Kinetix, Lumberjack, Butigo, Sport in Street and Dockers by Gerli to penetrate the Russian market.
