NEW ERA IN THE POWER PLANT SITES

The procedures and principles determining plant areas of generation subject to licenses in the electricity market have been determined and Power plant sites will be determined according to energy source and technology type, and electricity generation from a second source will be provided within the same power plant area.

According to the EPDK’s statement, new investment and employment opportunities will be created with renewable energy facilities to be built on the sites where power plants are located. Companies producing electricity from other sources will also be able to establish their own solar power plants within the same power plant area. Thus, solar panels will become widespread and domestic panel production will be increased. Plants based on geothermal energy installed in the agricultural regions will be eliminated by using agricultural waste in the region. In these areas, biomass-based auxiliary resource units can be established to increase electricity production. In addition, renewable energy sources such as solar or biomass will be used together in power plant sites based on conventional energy sources such as coal and natural gas.
