Siemens Türkiye Chairman and CEO Hüseyin Gelis said that their comprehensive technology portfolio helps customers achieve their goals with more sustainable methods and using fewer resources.Stating that the foundations of the company were laid in Berlin by Werner von Siemens in 1847, Gelis stated that they have stood out with their engineering excellence, innovation, quality and reliability over the past 176 years.
Saying that more than 300 thousand people are directly employed in more than 80 countries in the world, Gelis stated that Siemens Türkiye’s R&D activities are among the top 5 globally and among the top 3 in Europe. Share of exports in turnover will increase to 40 percent Underlining that they produce solutions and projects with more than a thousand software engineers in three different locations, İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir, Hüseyin Gelis said, “Again, 30 percent of our female software engineers work in our R&D organization. We send 90 percent of the software systems we produce abroad. This corresponds to 15 percent of our total turnover. We aim to increase this rate to 40 percent within 5 years.”
“Türkiye launch of Siemens Xcelerator”
Gelis noted that they launched Siemens Xcelerator which offers solutions that will increase the sustainability, energy efficiency and digital world adaptation of businesses in all sectors in Türkiye in March this year.
Underlining that they produce solutions that meet the needs of customers of all sizes for infrastructure, transportation services, food and beverage, chemicals, automotive, health and many other key industries, Hüseyin Gelis said, “This ecosystem that we have established for everyone's use will quickly update itself with the changing needs of the sectors and it will continue its development with the feedback of users.”
“Siemens Türkiye is shown as an example globally”
Gelis stated that Siemens Türkiye is shown as an example globally with its sustainability, new technologies and energy efficiency projects, and said that one of the most concrete examples in this context is their cooperation with Sepiciler Deri. Gelis stated that while the company's electricity consumption decreased by 18 percent and natural gas consumption by up to 40 percent, carbon emissions decreased by 1145 tons.
Türkiye’s first Leed Gold certified production facility
Stating that in addition to the headquarters in Kartal, İstanbul, they have regional offices in Ankara, İzmir, Bursa and Adana, Hüseyin Gelis said that they export the production they make in their 35 thousand square meter production base in Gebze to 80 countries. Pointing out that this is the first Leed Gold Certified production facility in Türkiye, Gelis gave information that the energy efficiency of the facility is 25 percent and the water saving rate is 50 percent.
“We are a Turkish company of German origin”
Stating that they define themselves as a Turkish company of German origin, Gelis said, “Since the day we were founded, we have continued to invest in Türkiye and contribute to the economy and society, even under the most difficult conditions. We have always believed in Türkiye’s potential. We trust Türkiye’s power and people.” Stating that Siemens came to Anatolian lands only nine years after its establishment in Germany, Gelis said, “Our company has broken new grounds by working to contribute to the economy and society for 167 years. It was Siemens who implemented the first telegraph system in the Ottoman Empire in 1856, the first telephone line in 1881, and the first power plant in Dolmabahçe Gazhane in 1906.”
