Foreign exchange loss has reached 7.2 percent of equity at SMEs, 70 percent for big companies
The increase in financing costs led to an average of 20 percent erosion of interest-bearing capabilities of all firms. For many companies, the interest coverage capacity fell to statistically insufficient levels. The share of financing costs in expenses has increased in all scales recently and turned into a loss exceeding the EBITDA level in those with open position risk. Those companies are in a situation where they cannot produce internal resources. Based on estimates using the induction method in the current sample, exchange rate loss in SMEs corresponds to 7.20 percent of their equity compared to two-thirds in corporations.
