“The problems of environmental pollution, loss of biodiversity and climate change facing the world are forcing the international community to change in every field.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the European Union Green Deal are guiding this change, leading forth public authorities, business world, civil society and media and calling for urgent action.
As Lubricant World, we are heeding this urgent call for action and taking a step to contribute to the green, circular and digital transformation of the international community. Starting from 2024, our magazine will continue its publication life on digital platforms in order to reduce carbon footprint and increase resource efficiency. From now on, we will use our website more effectively and deliver our content to our readers more quickly and easily accessible through social media and digital platforms.
We feel the support of our readers and advertisers behind us in this decision we have taken for the transition to a circular economy and sustainability; we are excited about our new structuring in accordance with the media habits and news access standards of our age.
Sustainability is the priority agenda of our industry as well as the whole world. The Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standard published in the Official Gazette in December 2023 imposes new responsibilities on the companies in our sector. This regulation is important for companies engaged in foreign trade in the EU market, as well as for companies producing for the domestic market. Our interview with Erdem Kolcuoğlu, co-founder of Kıymet-i Harbiye, which guides companies on their sustainability journey, contains very enlightening information for the managers and professionals on this subject.
Another agenda that closely concerns our sector is the amendment to the Turkish Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (Turkish REACH). As Lubricant World, we appealed to the expertise of Chemvisor General Manager Dr. Eyüp Şimşek on this issue. The technical article prepared by Dr. Şimşek explains the importance and details of the Turkish REACH process and the current situation created by the amendment of the regulation.
Both the sustainability agenda and the new opportunities provided by technological change make R&D and innovation studies inevitable for our companies to survive, to exist in commercial life and to compete with the world. Our columnists, consisting of academicians and experts, also provide information that will inspire our companies in their R&D and innovation activities. We believe that the companies that want to renew and diversify their product range, include environmentally friendly practices in the production process and gain competitive advantage with effective cost management will benefit from this valuable information; we sincerely thank our academicians and experts who add value to our magazine with their articles.
In 2024, we wish our industry new business connections, new business ideas and new investment opportunities that increase production and trade volume. Let it be a fruitful year for all of us.
