Başaranlar exports 20 types of stone to 55 countries

Operating in Denizli OIS Başaranlar Mermer exports 20 types of stone to 55 countries in five continents. Stating that they operate actively in 11 quarries in total in Burdur, Muğla, Afyon, Denizli and Isparta, Marketing Director of Başaranlar Mermer, Mehmet Serter said: “Our quarry investment­s continue. we have a license applicatio­n in Isparta Sütçüler. We have licenses recently gained through tender in Muğla. We foresee to start operating in our quarries in Muğla and Isparta towards the end of this year after the completion of the necessary procedures. Our production diversity is quite high as we produce project based special orders, besides the standard production”.

Stating that their investment­s continue in the factories, apart of the new quarries, Mehmet Serter said that they continued to take over new lines and renew machine track to increase the production. Expressing that they exported 70 percent of the production, Serter said: “We export to 55 countries in five continents. We cannot use the 100 percent of our capacity. Five pm and 10 am shift cannot work as the power tariff is high. We work two shifts per day. We have also sub-production depending on the density of orders. Stating that the production facility consists of three divisions as plate, tile and mosaic, Serter expressed: Our production capacity is 1.5 million square meters. We operate in our facility establishe­d on 42 thousand square meters, 30 thousand of which is roofed. We employ 290 people in our factory. We have around 600 team members including our quarries and other facilities”.

Stating that as Başaranlar Mermer they have establishe­d optimum tile production factory with the 50 percent grant from 50 TKDK in Denizli OIS, Serter said: “Our fatory has a 500 thousand square meter production capacity and has been establishe­d with an investment of over 2 million liras”. Underlinin­g that they produce travertine rustic besides the Denizli travertine tiles in internatio­nally standard scales within the auspices of the facility, Serter mentioned: “Optimum travertine has caught up the quality and continuity in the products with its state of the art technology”.

Stating that they closed 2017 with 10 percent growth, Serter said should the problems in Middle East be solved, especially in Syria and Iraq, the natural stone market would grow in parallel to the growth in the constructi­on sector and the region would become to be a significan­t market for them.
