Orkisan has doubled its covered area capacity in the production facility within last four years
Orkisan, operating in stone and soil industry, has doubled up its covered area capacity in the production facility within last four years. Kerem Orhon, General Director of Orkisan, stated that they had spared their investment budget of 2017 to expand their factory buildings and building epoxy line and mosaic production plant. He also said they had expanded their production facility to 4 thousand square meters from the already existing 2 thousand square meter covered area with the investments. Stating that they increased both the production capacity and quality in that manner, Orhon shared the information that they had updated the machine park and the number of personnel within the last four years through the investments made.
Explaining that they produce stone chips in Istanbul and marble in Çorum OIS, Kerem Orhon said that they produce 25 thousand square meters of Amasya beige marble monthly in the current facilities. Stating that they prepare half of the production for the implementation projects and the other half for architecture offices, restoration projects and marble deposits, Orhon informed that the investments for marble quarries continued, as well as the new investments. Orhon said: “4+12+1 new slim machine, bevel machine, horizontal split machine, multiple sizing and header machines are renewed. Therefore, we will establish a new production line, where we will employ eight personnel and produce for our customers, who have detailed sizes in this line”.
Kerem Orhon reminded that they had started to 2017 with a budget of 1.4 million liras and said that the year was closed with sales and implementation of a 250 thousand square meters product. Pointing out that the performance has increased in comparison with 2016 Orhon underlined that this increase was 40 percent. Saying that the construction of the additional building planned for the facility in Çorum OIS is continuing, Orhon reminded that installation of epoxy line and polish machine had been completed in 2017.
Assessing the sector, Orhan emphasized the difficulty in finding qualified personnel. Thinking that qualified personnel should be trained for the sector in high schools and universities Orhon said that this would increase the incentives and investments for the sector.
