- İZMİR

Supplying marble to the Project companies in Far east from the contracted quarries in Turkey, Ludi will export marbles from Iran and Albania in short term to these regions. Stating that there are quarries in Malatya, Afyon, Isparta and Burdur working only for them, Lütfi İşlek, owner of Ludi Mermer said: “We export the grey marble we get from these quarries to China, Vietnam and Taiwan. We aid the investments of the operators, in accordance with the contracts we conclude with the quarries. We have received licenses for two quarries this year. Both of them are in Burdur. We will extract beige marble from those places”.

Stating that they will start new quarries of their own and contracted ones in short term Lütfi İşlek emphasized that they were planning an investment for quarry in Iran this year. Stating that the talks with Iran continues İşlek said: “We will both operate a quarry and partner to the operating facility of a big Iranian company this year. We are also about to conclude a contract with a quarry in Albania. Our relation there is not partnership but a commercial partnership. We will directly export the stones extracted from Albania to China”.

Saying that they expand the market network steadily, İşlek stated: “We went to Taiwan two years ago. We will include Thailand among our markets. We have significant talk seven if it is a small market. We will continue to grow in the Fareast. We can meet only the half of the demands we receive”. Stating that they only worked with the Project companies in China, İşlek mentioned: “We do not supply products to marketing companies. We supply products to the biggest contractors of the globe, to the projects of Chinese and Vietnamese governments. We provide marble to the hotels constructed in Fareast by one of the biggest hotel chains of the globe for the last five years. Six of them is finished and in the next four years there will be 22 more”.

“We have no sales problems, but production problems”

Stating that they had a turnover of 10 million dollars in 2017, Lütfi İşlek said: “We grow every by 23-30 percent. This will reach to annual 50 percent. The orders received also confirm that this target will be achieved. We have no problems in sales, but problems in production. One cannot increase the production as marbles are natural products. Emphasizing that they plan to establish a marble processing facility, İşlek said: “The biggest and closest market for Turkey for the processed product was Syria and Iraq. But now the situation in Middle east is obvious. We plan to start processed product exportation by founding our own processing facility if the war in these two countries come to an end. The high added value products are important for a better use of country’s resources”.
