TSM Global increases its investments on heavy tonnage excavators in Turkey
Serving to the marble sector with its caterpillars and forklifts TSM Global aims to increase its brand power in Turkey related to tracked excavator and primarily in heavy tonnage in medium term. In parallel to this, stating that their investments were directed to the reinforcing of the post-sales services primarily since the foundation, Uğur Baştürk, Foreign Sales, Business Development and Marketing Director of TSM Global stated that they expanded sales and post-sales team with the concluded new service and spare part franchising contracts. Expressing that they will continue their Turkey based regional activities with the new investments in medium term, Baştürk emphasized that they wanted to accelerate also their export focused on the closer geography.
Expressing that they are also responsible for the management of sales and post-sales branch distribution channels in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kirgizstan and Uzbekistan markets, besides the Turkish market, Uğur Baştürk explained that they foresaw being more efficient in the next years in the mentioned markets. Stating that they have cooperation with two global brands named Sumitomo from Japan and Hyster from America, Baştürk said: “We continue to introduce to the market the new model products as “6 series” offered by Sumitomo excavator in 2007. Furthermore, we have increased the number of our current regional directorates and service branches to better serve to our increasing machine population. we have also had investments like technical equipment purchase and additional personnel employment”.
“Sales of heavy tonnage excavators increased in 2017”
Reminding that the company was founded in 2014, when Sumitomo, one of the leading excavator and asphalt spreader manufacturers of Japan decided to invest in Turkey, Uğur Baştürk informed that TSM Global had a composition of 90 percent foreign and 10 percent local partners. Pointing out that the market share of especially the heavy tonnage excavators of TSM Global increased significantly in 2017, Baştürk said: “One of the primary shares in this success belongs to the new model ‘6 series’ products, which can be called as ‘golden’ series of Sumitomo excavators in the market. Shining out especially with the oil consumption and durability, Sumitomo is preferred in the heavy services as marble quarries thanks to these features. In fact, the oil consumption could be decreased by 20 percent in comparison with the former series. Furthermore, thanks to the durable components of Sumitomo excavators, the machine can work for long hours without any break down. This feature becomes an important factor in mountainous areas and in quarries far from the urban areas”.
