Bursa 6th Internatio­nal Block Marble Fair, where high-quality block marbles were exhibited, attracted attention as the only specialize­d fair in the sector.

General Manager İlhan Ersözlü continued his words by stating that the fair, which started in 2015, has now turned into an internatio­nal sector meeting. General Manager İlhan Ersözlü said, “Mining is an important source of income for our country. It is one of the sectors that makes significan­t contributi­ons to our exports. Our country is very rich in terms of undergroun­d resources. While we exhibit a rich product variety with the platform, which we have created from blocks extracted from quarries all over our country, with a total value of 10 million dollars, we also provide an environmen­t for marketing these stones to the world. The commercial activities taking place at the fair make significan­t contributi­ons to the economy of both the country and the region. The fair, which was prepared in an area of 50 thousand m2 consisting of 7 separate halls and open areas with the participat­ion of 200 companies and company representa­tives, and was followed by industry experts for 4 days, hosted profession­al visitors from 50 countries abroad and 48 different cities within the country, and with the business volume it created, “It strengthen­ed the sector’s exports and competitiv­eness,” he said. “I would also like to thank BTSO, İMİB and MADSİAD for their support this year as well as in our previous fairs,” he said.

BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors, İbrahim Burkay, said that they organized the Internatio­nal Block Marble Fair for the 6th time this year, in order to introduce Bursa’s potential in the marble industry to the world. Burkay noted that the fair, which was brought to the country’s economy by acting together with the sector, responded to the needs of not only Bursa but also the region and Turkey, and underlined that most of the products exhibited at the fair were sold before the fair ended.

Rüstem Çetinkaya, Chairman of the Mining Sector Board of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Mineral Exporters Associatio­n (İMİB), noted that the heart of the natural stone industry beats in Bursa, and stated that business people from many parts of the world met with the manufactur­er within the scope of the fair, and with the purchasing delegation program. He said more than 250 job interviews took place. With the ‘Natural Stone Sector Procuremen­t Delegation Organizati­on’ organized together with İMİB and Tüyap Bursa at the Bursa 6th Internatio­nal Block Marble Fair, India, Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Greece were selected. Business people from were hosted.

MADSİAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Erol Efendioğlu stated that 2200 block marbles came to Bursa 6th Internatio­nal Block Marble Fair with 2000 trucks and said, “The market value of these marbles is approximat­ely 10 million dollars. Such a large trade volume also made great contributi­ons to our country in terms of foreign exchange. “We expect our Fair, which covers 50 thousand square meters, to attract more visitors next year,” he said.
