UAE extends ‘Year of Sustainability’ in 2024
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2024 as the extension of the “Year of Sustainability”.
This move builds on the achievements of the previous year and reinforces the UAE’S dedication to ensuring a sustainable future for all its citizens and residents alike. The announcement was shared on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, during the National Environment Day.
The Year of Sustainability in 2023 played a crucial role in elevating awareness of the nation’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection and conservation. As the initiative moves forward, it aims to further engage everyone residing in the UAE in a unified effort to embrace sustainable practices, supported by an array of community-focused initiatives and activities centred on sustainability.
Fuelled by the accomplishments of the past year, the Year of Sustainability team warmly invites individuals and communities to contribute to the development of initiatives for the upcoming year.
The oversight of the year-long initiatives will be under the stewardship of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-president, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, alongside Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
