Emirates to start Athens-New York
EMIRATES will launch a daily ‘fifth freedom’ service between Dubai and New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport, via Athens, from March 12, on three-class B777-300ERs.
The new route complements its existing four daily flights between Dubai and JFK airport and enables Emirates to drive move business into New York while targeting new customers in Greece and surrounding SE Europe markets. The service will also appeal to travellers looking for quicker access to and from New Jersey.
Emirates is capitalising on the demise of Greece’s aviation sector after the financial crisis – no direct flights between the US and Greece have existed since 2012. THE ADDRESS BOULEVARD DUBAI
