Spring launch for Mondrian Doha
THE FIRST MONDRIAN HOTEL in the Middle East, Mondrian Doha, is targeting a second quarter opening. Guests can expect the “Sunset Strip vibe” of the original Hollywood Mondrian at the 270room hotel, which has been designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders.
Eye-catching features include the fourlevel spiral staircase, glass dome skylight on the 27th floor and abundant cultural tie-ins from paintings and portraits to falcon headpieces and ornaments. Rooms cover standard, one- and two-bed suites, and Studio and Penthouse suites, and all rooms feature bespoke miniature artworks, luxurious custom-made furniture and Swarovski crystal chandeliers.
F&B includes Morimoto Doha, the first eponymous Morimoto outpost to open in the Middle East, another CUT by Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Magnolia Bakery, an authentic Qatari restaurant, a burger venue, cigar lounge, shisha terrace, nightclub and skybar.
A 2,000sqm spa is believed to be the largest ESPA spa with 11 treatment rooms, and the MICE offering spans the same area with a multi-purpose ballroom that can hold 1,500 guests. Other facilities include an indoor pool and flower and retail store.
