Accor raises resorts profile with Rixos tie-up

-

ACCORHOTELS AND RIXOS HOTELS’ new strategic partnership will see the French operator own 50 per cent in a new joint venture management company that aims to launch in April.

Accor, building on its FRHI purchase and other equity investments, is keen to expand its profile in the upper/ upscale luxury resorts sector and plans to integrate “15 iconic hotels” across Turkey, UAE, Egypt, Russia and Europe into its network (they will be sold on both operators’ platforms).

Rixos, which is adding a second hotel in Dubai and properties in Abu Dhabi and Moscow, gains access to Accor’s distribution and it will reflag five city centre hotels to Accor brands (four in Kazakhstan, one in Turkey, subject to owners’ consent).

Rixos will leave the Global Hotel Alliance Discovery programme and guests can earn Le Club points.
