OCEC gears up for in­ter­na­tional events

THE OMAN CON­VEN­TION & Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre (OCEC) will host its first in­ter­na­tional events in De­cem­ber when ACI Air­port Ex­change 2017 will be fol­lowed by the UNWTO/UNESCO World Con­fer­ence on Tourism and Cul­ture. It marks a com­ing of age for the large MICE fa­cil­ity which chalked up its first birth­day in Oc­to­ber and han­dled 750,000 vis­i­tors in its first 12 months.

Fa­cil­i­ties com­ing up in­clude a tiered the­atre with 3,200 seats, a 450-seat au­di­to­rium, two ball­rooms for ban­quets for up to 1,200 guests, 20 meet­ing rooms with a ca­pac­ity of up to 360 del­e­gates, hospi­tal­ity suites and a VIP pavil­ion. The precinct in­cludes a JW Mar­riott Ho­tel linked to the Con­ven­tion Cen­tre and Crowne Plaza, rep­re­sent­ing 600 ho­tel rooms in to­tal.
