Lightblue is creative lead for Ghawali
Lightblue has been appointed lead creative agency for the Chalhoub Group’s luxury fragrance house Ghawali. Lightblue will lead Ghawali’s marketing efforts in creative, content creation and experiential. Supported by Havas PR and Havas Media, the independent agency will steer the luxury house’s communications in the coming years.
Anees Abdullatif, general manager of Ghawali, said: “The team at Lightblue is unwavering in its commitment to bold, brave ideas. Their capabilities in strategy, content and creative make them uniquely equipped to bring innovative, integrated solutions to what we’re trying to achieve. We are excited to partner with them to write the next chapter of Ghawali’s history.”
David Balfour, co-founder at Lightblue, said: “This win further deepens our relationship with the Chalhoub Group as well as strengthening our position in the market as a luxury disruptor; we are looking forward to the year to come and the creative work that we’ll produce.”
Ghawali’s new positioning will be revealed in mid-January with the launch of its new collection, Al Laylaa, in a campaign featuring the likes of Ali Mostafa, Sara Al Madani, Hatem Alakeel and Arwa Al Banawi.
Lightblue is a regional creative experience agency founded on a belief that brands should harness the power of culture to play a deeper role in their audiences’ lives. The Ghawali win follows successful pitches that saw the agency deliver campaigns for Charlotte Tilbury, Frederic Malle and Gatorade. J. Walter Thompson was successfully chosen by telecoms provider Zain Kuwait as its creative and communication partner, after finalising its pitch process initiated in Q3 of 2018. The win represented a reappointment for the incumbent agency.
Najla Al Eisa, manager of the corporate communication and branding department at Zain Kuwait, said: “We value our brand and consumers more than anything, and as such believe that the creativity and innovation we bring them will be a key success formula. And so we need to ensure we have great partners with us to deliver this vision. J. Walter Thompson is a partner we trust fully and one that can help us get there.”
Sasan Saeidi, regional CEO of JWT Gulf, said: “Zain is a special brand for us and we have been in partnership for years. Telco is a dynamic industry, an industry that demands innovative and fast thinking at the highest level. As J. Walter Thompson, we pride ourselves with a positioning revolving around futures reimagined, and we look forward to imagining a beautiful future together full of effective business results and amazing creativity for the years to come. We truly value what we have built together and look forward to taking the brand to higher levels in the years to come.”
